I received a letter yesterday.
That's it really.
I get care packages periodically, and a present or two at appropriate times of the year. Obviously I get bills monthly, and junk mail even more so
But this was a letter with the latest news and updates, wishing me well and thanks for a past moment.
How incredible and how fabulous! What a delicious treat!
It almost makes me want to send a few letters myself :-)

how wonderful, i can't remember the last time i got a real handwritten letter, it was one of the many joys of doing genealogy, thats i used to get so many hadwritten letters from elderly people, it was delicious, I miss those days too xo
ditto kyles.
I can remember my mother getting letters from time to time when I was a kid... but I guess with email, actual letter writing has become a thing of the past for the most part.
I've got a great-aunt, who until she went in a nursing home a year & a half ago, used to send me the old-fashioned hand-written letter... now I miss those.
Perhaps that's why I create a "news letter" every year to send out w/our xmas cards... a typed letter, once a year, packed w/info is better than none at all.
I myself loved getting mail, and I know the joy a letter brings...that's why a few weeks ago I starting writing people.
Now that email is king, most people can't remember the last time they got a letter. How sad.
The historian in me is saddened by the trend of email over actual, physical letters. Most of what we know about the "Founding Fathers" (of my country) we know through their letters of correspondence.
Anyway, YES!!! Write your loved ones, they'll thank you.
