Fruit and Me :-/

Yes I know an apple a day keeps the doctor away and that you should try and eat 2 pieces of fruit a year ... whoops a day, but I concede that I am really not a fruit fan. I will eat veges by the truckload and yes it is hard to say no to a mango but on the whole...

Which is why 'the change' is all so weird. It started a few weeks ago when I bought pineapple to take on a picnic. We didn't eat it all so I found myself eating just pineapple for breakfast (I say 'just' because I didn't put muesli or yogurt or anything else with it).

Then 'A' from work brought me an orange to eat while we were out of the house - although growing up on an orange orchard, I have no memory of when I last ate an orange - realistically , it is more than 20 years. And I ate it - it was juicy and sweet and the world didn't fall apart!.

Then I saw some magnificent nashis the other day - and bought one, just for a snack - and I ate it with blissful delight.

Then yesterday, and I hope you are sitting down by now, I ate an apple. Yes it was straight from the fridge. No I didn't cut and core it and no, there was no gun to my head. An apple!!!! Without cutting it up!!!!!!

I hope I am having some kind of weird episode because the other option is just too weird to consider, maybe I am growing up .... and this will soon become normal .... aaaargh!

laugh, must admitt..i love some fruits but never think to grab them as a snack..summer i tend to and thats often as A. grabs them first..

One thing odd, I cant stand fruit salad...I like to taste each peice for what it is and savour it..but fruit salad is like a giant bowl of left overs..does that make me a fruit elitist?

hey guys! Nah, it makes you a fruit try hard Gale...lol... I prefer summer fruits, and I think everyone will agree they are more likely to eat fruit that has been cut and prepared for them. As a fellow recent convertee to the fruit bowl after a few years...good on ya Rae! Welcome to the fruit side!

fruit can be so like 'nookies' ...ya have a craving for a peice, you go and pick it out, prepare it, finally take a bite...and it lets ya down..for many reasons, no flavour, taste..bad bits inside...
usually im so let down that i just couldnt be bothered trying another, the moments gone...ahhh

I think the only time I have compared fruit to sex G is when eating a mango (in the bath of course!!)
