I have been doing one of those little life-audits on my favorite singers from my teen years (and still now). Am I the only one to notice a trend?
Meat Loaf (60)
Bruce Springsteen (58)
John Mellencamp (56)
Jimmy Barnes (52)
Donald Fagan (60)
Mark Knopfler (58)
Nina Simone (passed)
Billie Holliday (passed)
Even Boy George is 47! I am going to stop listing them now ... this is just getting silly - the world is aging around me.

Gees woman, dont say that bout the boss... god Im off to have a Bex and a good lie down....
Who can imagine the Boss nearly 60! Even more so that he is still rockin' on. Is it because rock got old or something else - when I was a teen it seemed a big deal if people had hit 40 (Beatles and Rolling Stones, Elvis would have been). Was anyone still singing at 60 back then?
Gosh,Gollie - you pair have a thing with older men??? :-)
re singers back then still singing at 60 - can think of a few -Sinatra, Martin, and the great Satchmo Armstrong to name a few - but other than possibly Armstrong, they would not have appealed to your generation of teenyboppers - lol
With the charisma on my list I am not really sure age comes into it Robert lol
