Rain

I love rain. I think I have always loved the rain. I moved to the other side of the continent to see rain. Not only does it cleanse the world around me, and bring life to the living creatures in my environment, it somehow seems to also cleanse my soul, my being. I feel alive and nurtured when it rains. And whether I am out playing in puddles or snuggled in bed listening to the chorus on a tin roof, it all seems perfect, complete, just the way it is meant to be.

I hate rain! I really do! :)

But that's because of living beneath it 364 days of the year back in the UK. Then I moved to Florida, thinking that I'd escaped the stuff.

How wrong I was! Talk about tropical downpours!

I love the smell of rain after a long period of dry, that dustiness washing away, and new bright colours in everything. My broms look so fab after the rain has washed their leaves, and it just brings out the most vibrant colours. Joshie told me yesterday we needed the rain to wash away all the illness that has been in the air. I thought that was odd and asked who had told him that. Gran-Nan (great-grandmother) told me he said...well it made sense coming from an 87 year old woman, not so much coming from my 8 year old son!
